20 Must Have Beauty Tools

Beauty tools are, without a doubt, one of my favorite topics to write about, because, quite frankly, I believe they can be totally transformational. Yes, many high-end tools can get pretty pricey, but there's also a ton on the market that won't break the bank and work just as good. Below, I've independently selected the best beauty tools I've tried over the last few years, and which I really think are worth the hefty price tag.

20 Must Have Beauty Tools

StackedSkincare High-Frequency Wand

You know those fancy gadgets they use during a fancy facial? Well, this is one of those facial tools that estheticians love, and probably you've never seen before. This high-frequency wand uses electrical currents to generate oxygen upon application to your skin. Said oxygen works its way into the skin to kill acne-causing bacteria. You can adjust the quantity of electricity applied to your pimple. I also really like how well this device minimizes the appearance of acne.

Available on Amazon,

Dr. Dennis Gross DRx SpectraLite Dpl FaceWare Pro

Admittedly, this is an expensive face mask, but it's one I use a few times per week in my beauty routine, and I just think it's totally worth the splurge. It offers red light for the signs of aging and blue light and a combination of both LED lights that target acne. While it's more of a setting for fine lines and wrinkles, the red setting really, really diminishes some of the redness that's caused by my acne. I really do think at-home LED masks are worth it, and you can find them at all price points, too.

Available on Amazon,

LightStim for Acne

If you don't want to spend $400+ on an LED light mask, this is a less expensive alternative from LightStim. It offers both red and blue light at once to help minimize the look of red acne while also banishing acne-causing bacteria of the skin. It also helps build collagen production with each use, too.

Available on Amazon,

Deciniee Jade Roller

Jade rollers are all the rage as of late, and for good reason: they depuff the face. This one's made from 100% original jade stone and is double-sided for use on the face and the undereye area, too.

Available on Amazon,

Vanity Planet Aira Nano Ionic Facial Steamer

I feel like facial steamers work great to open pores to get gunk out and allow for deeper penetration of skin care products. That said, you really need to be careful about overusing a facial steamer. This is likely to irritate it if used too often. I don't use this product more frequently than once a week.

Available on Amazon

DEAYOKA Rose Quartz Gua Sha Tool

It's a great tool to improve your circulation and help with the lymphatic drainage and reduce puffiness, too. Whenever using gua sha, make sure you apply an oil or some kind of slippery lotion for better gliding of the gua sha.

Available on Amazon,

Dyson Airwrap Styler

I’ve written about the Airwrap Styler and Supersonic Blow Dryer before, and I still think the Airwrap is worth the money if you use it frequently. It’s amazing how much one tool can offer so many different looks.

Available on Amazon,

BIO IONIC Long Barrel Styler

I used to use a curling wand, but have since taken a liking to how these curling iron-barrel types set and aren't as much of a fuss to work with. This one has six heat settings and heats up super fast!

Available on Amazon

BURST Electric Toothbrush for Adults

This is the toothbrush an old dentist I used to see recommended for me, having sensitive gums. This is one of the first electric toothbrushes that I have tried which is soft enough to not make my gums bleed but firm enough to actually clean my teeth.

Available on Amazon,

Shiseido Eyelash Curler

What's the point even, living your life without an eyelash curler before mascara? I have used this exact one for years, and it never disappoints. It's just important to clean every other week so dirt, grime, and makeup buildup don't occur on the pad.

Available on Amazon,

Beautyblender Original Beautyblender Makeup Sponge

My foundation game really improved once I started using a Beautyblender years ago. There are so many Beautyblender dupes out in the market, but I have yet to find one that has that same nice texture the original possesses. Just note that these sponges do love to absorb a lot of liquid. You might be wasting some of your precious and expensive foundation with these guys, but I love the finish they give to the skin.

Available on Amazon,

TheraFace PRO

I mean, this isn't a necessity in any way, but man, wouldn't that be nice to have! It does a million and one things; it includes facial massage-it really works your facial muscles-LED light therapy, which is great for anti-aging, and hot and cold therapy. But it's also a microcurrent device and facial cleanser.

Available on Amazon,

CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask

Similar to the Dr. Dennis Gross LED mask, this one from CurrentBody actually contours more to your face. Plus, it's less expensive-although definitely still a pretty penny. It works to reduce wrinkles, lessen redness, and can help to firm up and tighten the skin, too.

Available on Amazon,

Canopy Humidifier

I literally can't survive without my Canopy humidifier in colder months. It's sleek, which I love; you're able to use the aroma kits with it, which I also appreciate; and it doesn't have any kind of visible steam or mist, which just really grossed me out, so it just seems a lot cleaner, too. It's been a winter skincare staple for me.

Available on Amazon,

HEETA Scalp Massager

This is a great tool to help stimulate hair growth. Sometimes, I use it before stepping into the shower and getting my hair wet. Note that it's highly tricky to use when hair is wet, especially if you have long hair. For this reason, I like using it on dry hair.

Available on Amazon,

Ice Roller for Face

Icing of the face is a great way to take down any inflammation in the skin, especially if you have red or acne-prone skin. I would make sure that after each use, you are wiping this tool down so bacteria don't spread.

Available on Amazon

CHI Spin N Curl Ceramic Rotating Curler

I just think this little device is so cool! You put a piece of your hair into the barrel, press a button, watch it spin, and then release to a gorgeous curl. I feel like it speeds up the curling process exponentially.

Available on Amazon,

Silicone Ice Pop Molds

These ice pop molds I used to fill with water, stick them in the freezer, and then use them on my skin when I had lots of acne. I just put a towel across my chest to catch the water that drips down. Whenever you apply it to your skin, you want the ice to be applied in fast, circular motions so that you don't irritate your skin.

Available on Amazon,

JPNK Blackhead Remover Tool

Be careful using them, of course! I like to use the really pointy tool to gently pop a whitehead, then use the other end to gently get the rest of it out of the pore. Using a pointy tool, to me, is safer than pushing and prodding your skin with your fingers when excavating a whitehead.

Available on Amazon,

Electric Makeup Brush Cleaner Machine

OK, I'm going to admit this: I have never actually used this, but I want to buy it just because it looks so cool and actually might work. I bought some other makeup brush cleansing tool about six months ago where it just spins in soapy water, and it doesn't do a thing. I think this tool would actually get the job done.
