Is Image Skincare a good investment?
Hey, girls, do you actually have to drop a load of cash on skincare? We're reviewing Image Skincare in this week's #FancyReviews: Is Image Skincare Worth The Money?
So, the hen party and wedding are coming up quick, and of course, your skin is going nuts. Classic! You've got redness, blemishes, dryness, and uneven skin tone. seriously, it never ends. Also, it's not uncommon to have a bunch of skin problems all at once.
This is no good with a large event coming up soon. The stress of all these things can absolutely make it worse, too. Now what? I just started using Image Skincare to help with my many skin issues.
Image Skincare Overview
Image Skincare is all about result-driven skin care. They have a plethora of products for anti-aging, balancing, hydrating, and brightening for helping us all 'Age Later'. The products can be used at home or in one of their many treatments. Which brings me to the next part-treatments. They have a few facials, which include the Organic Passion Facial, the Acne Lift Peel, and a Lightening Peel amongst others.
Their mission statement says;
IMAGE skincare is a professional corporation dedicated and permitted in providing our customers with the highest integrity of service, professional products, and continuing education within the field of skin care and esthetic procedures.
Skin Check-up
So, after months of trying out a bunch of different products, chugging tons of water, and basically doing everything I thought would help my skin, I was totally stuck. It was then that I started following Jennifer Rock - theskinnerd - on social media for tips. She used to work for Image Skincare, so she really knows her stuff and always speaks highly of it.
So, she quite literally said that everyone should start with a skin consultation, which is precisely what I did. I booked one in at my local Therapie Clinic, where I had a chat about my skin issues with the therapist. They took a gander at my face and made some suggestions about products and treatments and gave me some general tips.
Products
Let me tell you about some of the products, in fact, I tried on my skin myself and find them absolutely working for me. Just keep in mind that every person's skin is unique; what worked for me does not necessarily need to work for you. These are the ones presently in use from the Image Skincare range, and I just love these really. You should get these!
1). Image Ormedic Balancing Facial Cleanser
What It Does
So, this was my first product I'd ever tried from Image, the Ormedic Facial Wash. I got it recommended to me after talking with a skin consultant. This organic cleanser "lifts away makeup and impurities, balances the PH of your skin, and eliminates the need of a toner." That sounds awesome! It was going to be super gentle on my skin, and a great way to kick off fixing my skin issues.
How I Use It
So, with using this twice a day, I can totally see a difference. The blemishes have been clearing up slowly, and it always leaves my skin feeling super smooth afterward. That's great, because I usually had to use an exfoliator that contained beads in order for it to feel this soft, which isn't great for my skin at all. This stuff doesn't really foam up at all, and it's got a super gentle smell.
2. Benzac Clear Cell Acne Facial Cleanser
What it does
Moving on, I picked up the Clear Cell Cleanser. The therapist totally recommended it after I mentioned how oily my skin was, informing me that after just a couple of uses in a week, the oil levels would be kept down, and salicylic acid will help clear the spots. In, definitely! It suds up just a bit and has this really light, fresh smell.
How I Use It
I am using this as my exfoliator instead of a scrub since scrubs can be kinda rough on the skin. It is a bit stronger than the Ormedic cleanser, but not by much. When I first started using it, I felt a tiny tingle while my skin adjusted. But that's all settled down now and it feels totally fine when I use it. It really made a huge difference in my blemishes because of it. I wouldn't say I have full-on acne, but I do get those annoying spots, and getting them to go away is such a pain. The minute I see one popping up, I use this stuff, and within about 2 days, it's gone.
3) Super Brightening Serum
What it does
So, this serum was recommended to me because it is super light and ideal for my oily skin. The whole point of this is to deal with "skin discolorations and redness" so that you end up with a "clear, fresh-looking complexion." I have just come to know how important serums in your skincare routine are for keeping the skin hydrated.
How I Use It
I use this stuff twice a day after washing my face. The secret with this serum is to just use a little bit of it, as it can get pretty sticky. If I slather on too much, my face feels all tacky, and I gotta wait a bit for it to sink in before I throw on my moisturizer. It doesn't smell that great, either, but as Jennifer Rock from TheSkinNerd says, "Smells don't change cells! I don't really feel that my skin is that much less red, but it is definitely way smoother. This also really helps to cool my skin down after the Image Facial Peels, which usually leave my face feeling a little bit sensitive.
4) Image Vital C Hydrating Enzyme Masque
What it does
This Vital C mask is seriously the best! I have been hearing so many celebrities rave about it, and I've always wanted to give it a go. My friend said that after a facial, it's amazing because your skin is really soothed and cooled down. It sloughs off the dead skin so nicely and promises you "healthier, more radiant youthful skin." It contains loads of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins that give your skin hydration for so much longer. And it smells just amazing!
How I Use It
I use this like, um, twice a week or whenever my skin is craving some extra love. In the first application, I feel this little tingling sensation, but it's that kind of tingling feeling which tells you it's doing its thing! The amazing part is you can leave this mask on anywhere from five minutes to half an hour.
I completely love keeping it on for the full thirty minutes to get all the benefits.
Image Prevention and Daily Matte Moisturizer with SPF 32.
What It Does
I don't know if you have heard, but apparently, one is supposed to wear SPF every day, even when it is cloudy! So I tried using a moisturizer and SPF separately every day, but it just made my skin super oily, and I came out with a few extra spots. Great… So, after my first consultation, I picked up the moisturiser with SPF 32; not only does it protect against UVA/ UVB rays, but it also keeps the skin completely matte and shine-free-just what I am looking for! This moisturiser is also available in SPF 30, SPF 50, a tinted SPF and a spray version.
How I use it
I slap this on every morning right after my serum. Seriously, you only need the tiniest bit of it. I did find that if I used too much, by the end of the day, my skin would get super oily. But trust me, a little goes a long way. If you're outside in the sun, you are supposed to reapply this SPF every two hours. Oh, and it also smells pretty nice, which is a nice bonus!
Final Decision
So yeah, girls, I really do think Image Skincare is worth the money. I don't always think that the most expensive products are the best ones, but about our skin, I really do think that all of us should invest some bucks in it. I'm just living proof that this stuff really works. With my oily skin and breakouts around the clock, I finally see a difference in my skin. Seriously, I'd totally recommend going for a consultation first or getting a few samples instead of going the whole hog. I really think you'll be glad you did.
